How to Clean Makeup Sponges

To cleanse reusable cosmetic sponges, dampen with warm water and use a solid or liquid soap cleanser. Gently massage the cleanser into the sponge with fingertips to break down makeup and then rinse. Repeat if necessary until all traces of makeup are removed. Gently blot out excess water with a paper towel then lay out to air dry. After cleansing, sponges can be quickly disinfected using C3 Cosmetology Complete Care.

STEP 1
Dampen dirty sponges before washing.
STEP 2
Wipe the damp sponge over a solid cleanser.
STEP 3
Gently massage the cleanser into the sponge to break down the product.
STEP 4
Rinse all remaining residue and cleanser from the sponge.
STEP 5
Blot excess water with a paper towel.
STEP 6
Set sponges on paper towel after bloting most of the moisture out, and let air dry.
